What is the Growth Mindset School Community?

In 2014, a team of educators working together in an elementary school read and discussed Growth Mindset by Carol Dweck.  While reading, we discussed and engaged in collaborative learning on a private FB page.  That ongoing experience allowed us to co-constructed meaning about how growth mindset could apply to the various aspects of our school’s culture and systems.  This blog will tell bits of that story, including discussions about:

1. Beliefs: What beliefs limit our ability to invest equally in the growth of all members of our learning community?
2. Systems: What systems are embedded within a school that limit the growth opportunities of all members of the learning community?
3. Reach: What tools expand our reach to greater impact members of the larger educational community?

Over four years, conversations, both formal and informal, have shifted our thinking and impacted our systems.  Please join the conversation to increase growth opportunities and expand notions of ability in schools everywhere.
